A look at the piece

Close to Weinbergerhaus, with a wonderful view of the rugged peaks of Mt. Scheffauer, the thirteen-actor ensemble directed by Klaus Reitberger performs an interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream that is both classic and also inspired by local culture. Three worlds come together in the story: the hustle and bustle of dangerous liaisons at the royal court, the honest ambition of a troupe of simple craftspeople who want to put on a play, and the magical manipulations of the fairies and goblins of the night. Amorous encounters, fateful love spells and a donkey in the moonlight make trouble. Laughing is permitted! As is dreaming!

Reach the top comfortably

The ride with the Kaiserlift is free with a valid ticket to Theatre on the Mountain. The ride with the chairlift takes half an hour, so it’s recommended that you arrive at the bottom station around one hour before the start of the play. The venue is a 5 minute walk from the Brentenjoch top station.

Because the piece will be played outdoors, it is recommended that you wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes, and bring rain gear. The visit is at your own risk.

If the open air performance is cancelled due to weather, the admission ticket can be exchanged for a different performance date at the booking office or box office. However a new reservation is required.
