Extensive winter hike from Hinter- to Vorderthiersee

Starting in the centre of Hinterthiersee, you first walk in the direction of the snack station Wieshof, pass it and continue to the clearing in Modal. This quiet clearing is indeed inviting to stay, but there is still a long way to go. Further on you pass the snow-covered stone labyrinth and continue towards Schneeberg. Once there, you pass the slopes and meander through the houses of Gschwendt towards Vorderthiersee. Continuing on through small and idyllic clearings, you march towards your destination. As soon as one sees Lake Thiersee, one can either decide to take a final walk around the lake or to go directly to the bus stop. In all cases, a final stop in one of the inns or cafés is recommended before returning to Hinterthiersee.

Tip: The hike can also be shortened in Breitenau or in Schneeberg and from there the bus back. These paths are also prepared and walkable.
