Hike to the Hochwacht Kufstein

The hike to the Hochwacht Kufstein begins in the town center and follows pleasantly walkable paths with a moderate ascent, passing the Locherer Chapel on the way up to one of the most beautiful viewpoints overlooking Kufstein and the Inn Valley. Along the route, shady forest sections alternate with open passages that repeatedly offer wide views of the surrounding mountain scenery.
At the Hochwacht, you will also find an additional station of the Kufstein’s Historic City Trail, providing fascinating insights into the history of the Hochwacht and the development of the town. Over the centuries, this viewpoint played an important role – initially as a strategic observation post and later as a popular excursion destination with cultural significance. It is a wonderful place to pause, relax, and take in the scenery.
